Kristen and Trey’s Engagement Session at Rose Hulman

Kristen and Trey got engaged on Christmas Eve 2021 in front of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Terre Haute, a special place to the both of them. Trey was a groomsman in one of my 2021 weddings and I knew of Kristen from my days of working out at Common Ground CrossFit, so when they inquired about wedding photography, I was ecstatic! Kristen and Trey are both fun and laid back people who enjoy the outdoors. When we started planning for their mid-March engagement session, we took this into consideration.

Rose Hulman’s campus provided a fitting location for Trey and Kristen’s engagement session in Terre Haute as it had just the right mix of nature and architectural elements, and seemed to compliment them both as a couple. Kristen and Trey brought their pup, Kemper, along to the session and I couldn’t believe how well behaved he was, even off leash!

About half way through the engagement session, we found ourselves in the middle of a Rose Hulman tradition at the pond. No joke, we had to pause for a group of students charging past us down the sidewalk as they carried one of their friends by arms and legs to the dock where they threw him into the probably freezing cold water. We were assured by an advisor of the group who watched from afar, that this was a tradition of sorts, and not to be alarmed. We waited for the poor guy to crawl out of the water and then continued as normal. We ventured down to the dock shortly after but Kristen and Trey opted to slow dance by the water instead of jumping in.

Kristen and Trey are such an easy going couple and made the engagement session so enjoyable. I can’t wait for their wedding this fall!

If you are a bride-to-be looking for a photographer in the Terre Haute or Indianapolis area, I invite you to send me a note through my contact page so we can start chatting about your big day!
